NATIONAL HAPPINESS HAPPENS DAY
Every year on August 8th, National Happiness Happens Day encourages people around the world to recognize, celebrate, and share moments of joy, delight, and humor—no matter how small.
#HappinessHappensDay
National Happiness Happens Day is dedicated to recognizing every flicker of happiness in daily life. Whether it’s a quick giggle, a quiet moment of gratitude, or a major reason to celebrate, the day is a simple reminder to let happiness happen organically and share it with others.
How to Make Happiness Happen
Celebrate Small Joys
Acknowledge moments of glee, delight, and pleasure rather than letting them pass unnoticed.
Practice Daily Gratitude
Shift focus toward positive experiences, keeping in mind that anger takes away valuable moments of joy.
Protect Other People’s Joy
Avoid "squashing" someone else’s happiness, even if you are having a bad day. Let another person’s positive energy brighten your day instead.
When you express joy and laughter, your body releases the feel-good neurotransmitters endorphins and dopamine, naturally lower stress and anxiety levels. Happiness is scientifically proven to be contagious. When your body displays positive emotions, it can measurably boost the mood of those around you.
