NATIONAL HIRE A VETERAN DAY
Each year, thousands of service members transition out of the military and into civilian life. On July 25, National Hire a Veteran Day reminds employers across America to do more than thank veterans for their service--it challenges them to hire them, retain them, and give them a real path to grow.
#HireAVeteranDay
Veterans bring leadership, discipline, accountability, teamwork, problem-solving, and mission-first execution to the civilian workforce. They have led people, managed pressure, protected lives, operated complex equipment, solved problems with limited resources, and performed when failure was not an option.

Impact of National Hire a Veteran Day
Nearly 10 years after National Hire a Veteran Day was first proclaimed, the challenge has changed. The issue is no longer just veteran unemployment. Today, many veterans are working--but too many are underemployed, underpaid, poorly matched, or placed into roles that fail to use the leadership and technical skills they earned in uniform. Hiring a veteran is not charity. It is not a public relations move. It is a business decision.
Legislation protects separating service members as they enter the civilian workforce. However, the best way any potential employer can honor a veteran is to hire one!
~Dan Caporale, Founder of Hire Our Heroes & National Hire a Veteran Day
Veterans are ready to serve again--in construction, skilled trades, logistics, cybersecurity, healthcare, engineering, finance, operations, management, public safety, entrepreneurship, and every sector that depends on people who can lead, adapt, and execute.

NATIONAL HIRE A VETERAN DAY HISTORY
National Hire a Veteran Day was founded by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Dan Caporale, founder of Hire Our Heroes, to create a national call to action for veteran employment.
In 2017, the Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Hire a Veteran Day to be observed annually on July 25.
What began as a reminder to hire more veterans has grown into a larger mission: connecting corporate America, small businesses, trade industries, entrepreneurs, and local communities with the men and women who have already proven they can lead, serve, and deliver under pressure.
As the employment landscape has changed, so has the mission. Today, National Hire a Veteran Day is not only about getting veterans into jobs. It is about helping veterans find the right jobs, grow into leadership, earn what they are worth, and continue serving with purpose after the uniform comes off.
Let's Honor Our Men & Women of the Armed Forces
